Peter Ateh is a lawyer, leader, and trusted advisor to individuals, families, executives, entrepreneurs, businesses, and corporations, navigating legal and business challenges in todays’s rapidly changing world.
He is the CEO and Managing Director of ATEH LAW Professional Corporation, a boutique law firm Providing practical, strategic, and client-focused legal services to individuals, families, entrepreneurs, businesses, and corporations across Alberta, Canada, and internationally.
Peter’s journey is a testament to his resilience, steadfastness, faith and commitment to pursuing his goals. He immigrated to Canada in 2004 as a refugee, completed the National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) with the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA), and worked as a Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), and Regulatory Compliance advisor in the oil, gas and heavy construction industries. In 2016 he completed the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) process with the Federation of Law Societies of Canada (FLSC) at the University of Alberta Law school. Peter articled at Armstrong & Lypka LLP and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2024. After his call to bar, Peter moved to Nunavut where he worked with the Legal Services Board (LSB) as a criminal defence Lawyer, representing clients before the Nunavut Court of Justice and Justice of the Peace courts.
Peter has experience in criminal defence, family, & Immigration law, and corporate and commercial matters.
Peter’s professional background also includes e-discovery, privacy & data protection, and regulatory compliance work with Trust Array, as well as experience in the energy and construction.
This diverse background enables him to approach legal matters from both practical and legal perspectives. Collectively, his experiences provide the opportunity to examine leadership from a legal, and business perspectives, enabling him to advise clients not only on legal issues but also on the intersection of law, business, governance, and long-term institutional success.
Peter believes effective representation begins with listening and understanding each client’s unique circumstances. His approach is grounded in clear communication, strategic advice, professionalism, and a commitment to protecting his clients’ rights and interests.

Beyond his legal practice, Peter loves travelling, painting artworks and spending time with family and friends. He enjoys supporting individuals find and achieve their purpose, and also help new comers to Canada settled down and establish successful careers in the respective paths.
